I heard that the new 6nm apu in the Deck gets better fps like 10% is this true.
Reviews are saying like a 2-4fps improvement in games (obviously game dependent). Efficiencies are being targeted to battery life.
I think % is more important to report than absolute figures. 4 fps is huge at 30 fps.
I think digital foundry were reporting a 3-5% increase or something like that. Definitely a nice little bump but nothing crazy.
To be clear, there is no performance improvement from the APU. It’s a die shrink: same specs, same performance, smaller more efficient process. The slight performance uplift being seen in some games is due to the faster LPDDR5 RAM, which is of course shared with the GPU as VRAM.
2-4 fps improvement with battery life. ROG Ally will still outperform the Steam Deck OLED.
