I saw something called a mutedaddy that mutes the tv when you press the button and unmutes after 2 minutes. I realise you have to get the right infrared code to make it work, can i program it with my remote’s ‘back’ button, as this button switches between my current channel and the last channel i watched. if not, is there some other device that could do a similar thing? I just don’t want to sit in silence, that’s all.

Thanks!

any home AV control system could do this. It depends on your budget and skills. Top brands are Extron, Crestron, Atlona, Control4, and more budget would be SY, RTI, Kramer.

You can sometimes find the controllers used on ebay and learn to program them yourself however some brands are very difficult to learn. In those cases I would pay someone to write the program for you.
