Genuinely curious - why do you like it? I see this at the top anime of all time. I watched it a few years ago and i thought it was absolutely horrible. Like 2 or 3 out of 10.
I feel like the only reason i can see is “the main character is a bad guy” but that doesnt excuse trope-y terrible writing, flat characters, and mid-2000’s animation that aged horribly. Am i missing something?
I thought the concept was interesting. Seemed a bit derivative of The Witcher, but it was still interesting. I enjoyed most of the action scenes, and the VAs were not obnoxious in the Japanese dub.
I didn’t like how repetitive it started to feel towards the end, but I’d be lying if I said I didnt like it more than most of the anime I’ve watched that released after 2005.
AD Police Files and Parasite Dolls, but not the AD police remake from the 2000s
Bubblegum Crisis and Bubblegum Crash!, but not Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Heaven’s Lost Property
Neon Genesis Evangelion, End of Evangelion, and all four Rebuild of Evangelion movies
Darling in the Franxx, except the last like 3 or 4 episodes, whenever the space part happened
Trigun, but not the recent “reboot”
Claymore (the end was kinda mid)
Overlord
Goblin Slayer
AKIRA
Sei Juushii Bismark, and its english “adaptation” Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs
SDF Macross and Macross II Lovers Again, but no other Macross entries, and the english “adaptation” Robotech
Konosuba, but not the Megumin spin-off (it was okay, maybe mid at best)
Samurai Troopers
Silent Mobius, but only the first movie
Shuffle!
Chobits
Quintessential Quintuplets
Black Lagoon
Jin-Roh the movie, the animated one not InRang the 2019 Korean live action one
Full Metal Panic!
Is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon?
