Is this normal? I understand that you will lose some speed due to wireless connection I don’t currently have a ethernet to check speeds while wired, will check tomorrow. However the xfinity app says I’m getting 1400-1900mbps when I check

I’m using the xfinity router. Even the pc I have thats literally right next to the router is getting 300ish mbps.

My understandingn is you should get upto 1200 link speed on an 80mhz 2x2 channel. Resulting in throughput of about 800mbps.

If you have a 1x1 channel you should get a 600mbps link speed and throughput of say 500 in the real world.

Depending on the router and your wifi card you should be looking at 4-500 or 800-900 throughput.

If you are in a congested wifi area expect real world speeds to be lower

This may sound stupid, but are you sure you’re connecting to the 5 ghz wifi network and not the 2.4 ghz one? some routers like mine have separate 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz networks and you have to manually switch between one and the other.

If the device you’re using is 1x1 mimo then 300 Mbps is what you can expect. A 2x2 mimo device will double that or perhaps a bit more.
