Lewandowski had a great season with Bayern Munich but an underwhelming Euros. Messi, on the other hand, had a decent season with Barcelona and had an amazing Copa America campaign. Both of them deserved it. Yet, people say Lewandowski was robbed. I don’t understand.
There would probably still be people saying it (less but still some). But it doesn’t change the fact that he wasn’t better than Messi that year. Some people genuinely believe Lewandowski 2021>2020 or 20/21>19/20. That’s not true at all imo. Whether you look at what he won/achieved, his underlying stats or just the eye test. Some people have a warped idea of how good he was in those respective seasons. Lewadowski was robbed in 2020 but not in 2021.
I wish they would just give it to him, everyone knows he won 2020 anyway.
