Their determination on the Gabriel foul is mind boggling. I could easily with them, or anyone saying it’s not a foul, recreate the situation given my experience playing soccer (football or whatever anyone wants to call it). I am 100% that if someone crosses a ball similarly and I stand behind all 4 in this panel (or anyone else) and push /shove the back of their neck they’re gonna be arguing they my were fouled. It’s like none of them understand physics and motion.

the issue is Gabriel falls in a way that goes against the force applied to him that is counter to basic physics. In the video, you see that Joelinton is pushing down onto his back to impact his jump. Gabriel then comically dives upwards and out and flops on the ground like he was bench pressed. I think if he didn’t make such an absurd dive that possibly goes the other way for the pushing but, you can’t dive to that degree and expect it to be overturned.
