Think you could definitely stand to rotate them more or sub them out earlier. Saka especially seems tired and ineffective in a lot of games this season. I know he doesn’t have a direct replacement but he’s getting run into the ground.

I do understand where you’re coming from though. You need to win every game these days and you need your best players for that. But you also need them in top condition and I don’t think you’re getting the best out of Saka with the way his minutes have been managed so far.

This is where I think City have created an unrealistic standard that just wasn’t there before. They can rotate their world class starters with world class substitutes. Yes we could rotate more to give our world class starters some much needed rest but then the points will inevitably start to dip and you can barely afford to lose 1 point when you’re up against a team like City. They’ve put us in the position of needing Saka and Martinelli to start every game but in my opinion this shouldn’t be the norm and it simply feels unfair sometimes that we face criticism for starting them so much but would also be criticised for losing points from not playing them

We’ve made some shrewd squad signings recently but it still feels like one step forward two steps back when City can just sign players like Doku, Kovacic, Gvaridol for their depth. No doubt we can push them to the end but if we lose out will get called bottlers again despite being up against their monster squad

My only complain about mikel when it comes to this subject is the late subs, the game was won last night and Saka still stayed on after the knock , that needs to change

I’m not sure whether this is tiredness or simply being doubled every single game. Like nobody ever plays 1v1 because they just know it’s not enough. It’s also why we need Martin on that left side, because his goal contributions are often coming from exploiting this and we should continue to do so.
