I have a Category 6 (Cat 6) Ethernet cable. When I connect my PC directly to the router using this cable, I get the full 1 Gigabit per second (1 Gbps) speed. However, when I reverse the ends of the cable, so the end that was previously connected to the PC is now connected to the router, and vice versa, the speed drops to 100 Megabits per second (100 Mbps).
Is this a store bought cable, or did you buy bulk cable and terminate it yourself?
Can you cut off the ends and reterminate the cable with new jacks? Or just buy a new cable.
