I was surprised when I saw this data online… Can anyone fact-check?
Assumptions:
- He does not make another appearance for Man Utd.
- He will be sold three years after being signed - 1.7.2024.
- His wages are £350k as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
TL/DL:
- If he is released after three years, he will have cost Man Utd over £100mil… £101,341,100 to be precise.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £5.6mil per goal or assist.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £1.235mil per appearance.
- He could cost Man Utd up to £20,327 per minute played.
That’s not how the Glazers look at the numbers. Not based on goals.
From the Glazers Financial point of view, that’s a 73 mil dollar ASSET on the books. More “expense” Assets mean more value regardless of if they perform.
