Mike Johnson goes to the doctor for a checkup.

Doctor says, “Mr. Speaker, you’ve got to stop masturbating.”

    Johnson says, “Why?”

Doctor says, “So I can examine you.”

Weird christian shame shit aside, here’s a nice security concern to top it off:

“A US Congressman is allowing a 3rd Party tech company to scan ALL of his electronic devices daily and then uploading reports to his son about what he’s watching or not watching….,” Receipt Maven wrote. “I mean, who else is accessing that data?”

If my parent asked me to monitor their porn intake I’d tell them to talk to a clinical sexologist because what the actual fuck‽ And if they asked about mine I’d honestly be concerned that there’s something incestous there.

Like I’m super pro sex ed and parent-child communication on such things. But there are things that you’d like to keep private from that relationship unless it’s important. I’m so grateful I don’t know anything about my parents’ masturbation habits

Yeah, the concept isn’t that much different than going to AA meetings, but having your minor son be your accountability partner is pretty weird.

Having your kid be your AA sponsor also sounds pretty dang irresponsible in most cases. But also compulsive porn consumption is something that’s less to be solved with “even more Christian AA” than it is with a clinical sexologist because there’s usually quite a bit going on there and many times it’s more related to being ashamed of having healthy sexual desires than it it is an addiction. But also it’s having your kid monitor your porn consumption. Not a friend. Not your spouse. Your child.

What’s weird about notifying your kid when you beat off?

Preventing this is the future liberals want.

Huh? That’s so ridiculous it can’t possibly be true.

    Can we get another source?

Edit: yeah. This is also reported by plenty of other sources.

You probably already know this, but you need to keep a lookout for where the articles are actually sourced from. Just because multiple sources are reporting on something could simply mean they are affiliated outlets publishing the same story from the same original author.

This saves time for affiliate outlets, but it’s a practice that is vulnerable to the rapid spread of misreporting or intentional misinformation.

You’re absolutely right, but be careful on Lemmy.

I got absolutely blasted for asking for even a single corroborating source on one particularly unbelievable story.

You’re getting blasted because you didn’t bother to read the “unbelievable story”, which contained a link to exactly what you asked for.

During a conversation on the “War on Technology” at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church — unearthed by X user Receipt Maven — the Louisiana representative talked about how he installed “accountability software” called Covenant Eyes on his devices in order to abstain from internet porn and other unsavory websites.

Literally all you had to do was click the link.

          No.

You got blasted because you tried calling a local newspaper a non-credible source despite it being proven it was very credible.

You just didn’t like that it was a left wing site and wanted to discredit it. You failed hard and you’re still moaning about it days later.

Knew before I read the article that it was gonna be Covenant Eyes. Aka the same software “monitoring” Josh Duggar, that he got around with a partition. Super effective stuff. I’m guessing about 90% of fundie men that use it also have partitions, because you don’t pay for software to monitor your every move unless you know you’re not able/willing to control yourself.

The real problem is people that should be our leaders don’t want anything to do with all the bullshit involved with politics. So we end up with weirdos and crazies instead.
