And then go to court against Morgan Stanley…

I believe they’ve been trying to get out of the contract though which is good, but it’s still easier said than done.

Just claim sovereign immunity, bing boom, so simple. (I have no idea what the consequences of that owuld be, or what the legal outcome would look like.)

The legal consequences of -the city of chicago deciding to break a contract are whatever the city of Chicago decides. Nobody can force them to abide by the contract. No, not even a federal can.

“oh but the judge can say” yeah they can say whatever they want. I know at least two people who took massive pay cuts from big positions in their companies to work retail or fast food for nearly minimum wage just to spite their ex or to pay less in child support.

Garnishing wages is a lot easier when it’s one single person against the government. It’s a little harder when it’s a government against a company, and the company is the one that wants the money. It really all comes down to whether anyone in the government of Chicago cares to listen.

Corruption is to make sure nobody in the government does the reasonable thing.

People believe the system is a lot less corrupt than it really is. Propaganda good

I love Climate Town, but have such a hard time consuming long-form YouTube like that.

it’s under an hour long so I can watch more than one like this during my lunch break. It’s the long form content over an hour long that I have to avoid because it’s usually just vods which severely bore me.
