Like ok, we get it, billionaires/trillionaires are exploiting people for their own gain, wealth ia extremely concentrated, it becomes exponentially harder to lift yourself out of poverty the poorer you become (Matthew effect) and so on and so forth. Yeah, we’ve all heard of that. But then, after we’d established all of that, there is another question that arises: what do we propose as an alternative to current system and don’t we empirically see that countries who tried to implement communist economy failed badly? China ia not really communism is it? And North Korea’s bad economy can’t really be fully explained by sanctions or other disadvantages can it?

    The best answer is that the Soviet Union was enormously effective at eradicating poverty and developing society from a backwards semi-feudal society into a spacefaring one within a few short decades. The DPRK’s economic growth surpassed the ROK’s until the 80s, when the US invested enormous amounts of money into it, and their biggest obstacle with growth came from the enormous sanctions and the loss of the USSR as its biggest trading partner. China too is a socialist country, one that is better positioned to marketize developing sectors of the economy as makes sense with classical Marxist economic analysis.

    Socialism works every time its been implemented, delivering higher quality of life than peer countries, and has to be actively sabotaged by the greatest imperialist powers on the planet in order to dissuade workers from following in their revolutionary footsteps.

      Whats people’s deal here with images and AI-hate? Its not a rant, its a discussion post, you don’t see the point I’m making? You didn’t address any of my claims, you didn’t present your arguments, you contributed nothing. All you did was call me rude, because you have personal feelings about what should and shouldn’t be put in the body.

        I’m going to treat that as a legitimate question. At least the fossil fuel industry is burning the planet as a necessity (sadly we could have started phasing them out long ago but failed), GenAI is just burning the whole fucking planet for ponzi schemes, disinformation, and fun. AI output degrades every product it touches, makes every industry worse, lays off workers, and enriches only the worst human beings imaginable. In social contexts it’s an insult to put in zero effort into a human connection but instead pass them the ground up dismembered fragments of human interaction, a soulless non-connection forged by your apathy an incompetence.

        As for images, I just feel that an Image post should be about the image, by making an image post about some unrelated contexts you’re abusing the format.
