Searched if Imagetoolbox had that option, but didn’t find it.

Are there any good FOSS apps that can convert videos to gifs?

I remember Video transcoder from the past. It does not seem to be in Fdroid currently, as it is probably too old.

No recommendations from me, but have you tried using the ffmpeg wasm webapp? It looks to have a gif option and it runs locally. For just making a gif I imagine it’s fine enough to get the job done.

      Thank you.

The scaling seems to make the the gif quality a bit too low.
Is there a way to get it from 200 to maybe 300 or 400?

Edit: .Searched and found another website that allows custom commands.
      Thank you

RE your edit, mind sharing just for the record & personal edification? Or is it the ezgif site from the comments?

That’s cool, but the files are large (not surprising since GIF wasn’t meant for video). Any way to get more control over the output?

I looked around for a good long while and did not find anything online for andriod at all… However that doesn’t mean there isn’t any out there, i might have just missed it, or maybe there’s an app that can do it but doesn’t really advertise.

There are free closed source and ad supported stuff gallore, Giphy, for example. You may need to go outside FOSS to find what you need.

Or, there are Open and Free PC tools.

    Sorry, good luck.

If you’re comfortable with the command line, ffmpeg is available in Termux & I believe should be able to do what you want (either with your original source, or the mp4 that app I linked earlier outputs}.
