For me the shape of water was the worst film I’ve ever seen because the whole story was just so weird and ridiculous… An alien and a woman getting together.
The worst part about it is that critics at the time were praising the film…

Burn After Reading. I’ve probably seen movies that were technically worse but I’ve never left any other movie feeling whatever shitty emotion I was feeling at the end of that one. The girl I saw it with said the same thing.
WHAT
Idk man, I can’t give you specifics because it’s been so long since I’ve seen it but I distinctly remember the way I felt walking out of that theater and it was not good. Like I’ve felt disappointed by movies that didn’t live up to my expectations before or had poor writing but that one was different. Like I said I don’t think it was technically bad but something about it just hit me in a bad way.
i loved “burn after reading”: regular people are charming but even more so, they are stupid, childish, selfish and greedy and CIA are mostly stupid and have no fucking idea what are they’re doing. (and as an extra: no director has ever killed off brad pitt around halfway through the movie and still remained a great director(s), while keeping brad pitt the great actor that he is)
very prophetic and ahead of its time…
This movie has caused my husband’s ability to pick the comedies to be in question, not only in our relationship but among three other couples. If he says “it’s a great black comedy” he now has to describe how it is not like this movie. In his words, he knew he fucked up when he was the only one laughing and it looked over to see the dudes looking nonplussed and is girls looking at him in disapproval and shock.
YOU THINK THAT’S A SCHWINN?
Lol i found it pretty funny overall… “what did we learn?” (Shrugs)
