Ultra-processed food wasn’t associated with colorectal cancer in a lengthy study of older adults. But scientists are left wondering: Which foods are safe to eat?

Garbage article twisting the results of the study. NBc should be ashamed of themselves.

    Better article https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/health-wellness/2026/10/15/ultra-processed-foods-colorectal-cancer-risk-study/92172288007/

Higher intake of whole grain and dairy products from ultra-processed food sources was associated with lower colorectal cancer incidence, whereas processed meat from ultra-processed food sources was associated with higher risk, according to the study.

“Our findings support current dietary guidance to consume whole grains, fiber, dairy and calcium and avoid processed meat for (colorectal cancer) prevention,” the authors wrote.

Study funded by who? (Since I can’t read the paywalled article linked)

Wild stab in the dark, funded by “The ultra processed food manufacturers association of America”?
