This is what the Epic Game Store is great for (the only thing, don’t get me wrong). You get free games every week, some are really good, most are pretty short so they aren’t intimidating commitments of time, and you get the dopamine hit of a new game without paying anything, and the devs still got some money from Epic.

That’s why I only buy games when they’re heavily discounted. If they cost less than 10 (often 5 or less) then I don’t mind them just sitting there in my backlog. I only pay more if I’m very sure I’ll play the game that same week or if it’s from a small indie studio. So I get very surprised if I play a game the same release year or the year before haha

Just ignore the sale and dive into your backlog. I had GTA IV on the PS3 for ages and finally finished the main game. The sense of finishing it felt better than purchasing a new game.

Ha! I got smarter over the years. Instead of wasting thousands of moneyz each sale into zero playtime, I now maybe just buy one title. If even. Maybe even play it!

I picked up Arkham City and Arkham Knight in the sale. The former I played on Xbox when it first came out, and really loved. Knight I’ve heard good things about!

I probably didn’t need them urgently but they were so cheaaaap

I got Street Fighter 6. I’d avoided it so far because I generally only do single player and wasn’t sure the World Tour mode would be worth it. It might not have been for $40, but it definitely has been for $16!
