It is so difficult to find modern electronics without telemetry and ads. Smartphones, laptops, TVs, home routers, security cameras, cars, game consoles, e-readers, projectors, 3D printers, fitness trackers, speakers, and even some printers. Why can’t customers be free from this data collection and advertising? It’s not that we don’t care about it. There simply aren’t many alternatives, and the few that do exist are either more expensive or offer fewer features. Seriously, we need a list of products we can buy without worrying about telemetry or advertising.

Uh. What’s with people who need a new car? Are they F-ed? I know, not electronics …strictly speaking… But people need them. And these days they’re made up of 90% electronics anyway.
In what situation does someone need a new car? Just buy a few years old. My car from 1993 works just fine and doesn’t have telemetry, neither does my wife’s car from 2011.
An electric car is a computer on wheels. And no, there are no privacy friendly options.
Bummer. The commuter trains here run on electric. And they’re kinda privacy friendly if you got the right ticket. But then they’re late all the time, or don’t arrive at all. And they only get me to fixed locations…
