I wonder what the Catholic Trumpers here in Louisiana will think of her saying that?

I’m gonna have to ask some.

          This.

I’ve been Catholic all my life. How can you be Catholic but oppose the pope, one of the central parts of the religion? It means you don’t trust God’s judgment, therefore you lack faith, therefore you’re not Catholic.

          Oh right, they don’t think.

Its always infuriating me when people “pick and choose” from religion. Either you take the whole deal or nothing. In this case, the pope, the direkt link and voice of god on earth. If you defy the pope, you defy god and say you know better.

I was raised catholic, and what made me leave was people like that, normal and priests of all levels. No you arent better just because you hold a spiritual position, no your “sinns” arent less evil, no god likes all people no matter their sexuality ethnicity gender identity aso otherwise he, to their own logic, wouldnt have created it!

My favorit joke is “so why did they kill jesus?” He said “be kind to another, help the poor, dont be greedy, love another, and spread love”

Yeah, the thing a lot of Catholics in America don’t wanna look at is the fact that we very well might see another schism between American Catholicism and Roman Catholicism within our lifetimes, possibly within a decade. The American church has been drifting REALLY far from the RCC, and not in the good ways.

Not just Catholics It’s All American Christians. American Christianity is just moving extremely far away from its traditional roots, be that Catholic or Protestant or what have you. Of course I would argue the real Schism seems to be between Christians and Christ.
