Something I hate about some #Linux distros/system configs is when a PCI device is added or removed, say a display card, the network interfaces may get a new name, breaking the existing network configuration. This is a doubly infuriating circumstance when dealing with a headless server. Looking at you #proxmox, yes you specifically today. So great removing an unused GPU from one server to be repurposed and having that node refuse to rejoin the network. So great having to then find a VGA monitor for the onboard video (adding back the GPU would not have helped) to update the network configuration for the names enp6... and enp3... becoming enp5... and enp2... I'm sure I could spend some time, now that things are back up, to research and find the magic sauce that renames the network interfaces in #Debian and try to disable it. Except I've other fires to deal with just now. Admittedly some I started myself, but most by others. So this will happen again, much later, once I've forgotten "This one weird trick"
