My current bank isn’t super useful with internet banking, and with branches being as rare as hen’s teeth, accessing service is too much of a hassle. So thinking to shift. Interested to know what you all think about these banks I’m thinking about shifting to.

  1. Bank Australia

Pro: Love the ethical/environmental stance, like that they trade under their own licence

Con: Not really sure how good their internet banking is.

  1. Ubank

Pro: certainly seems like the best for internet banking

Con: trade under NAB licence (is this really much of a problem though)

  1. Beyond Bank

Pro: only bank run for members, because it’s an old credit union, have personal recommendations

Con: Don’t know if they have better internet banking than even my current provider.

  1. Mystery Bank suggestions??

Pro: Perfect bank for me!

Con: Don’t know about it yet.

Comments, not financial advice ;), are very welcome!

Yeah, that member owned part is a serious ‘Pro’ for me. But I don’t know much else about them.

The key one is being able to open and close accounts far easier.

With my current one you have to call them, and they’re only available to call on the third moon phase, while Saturn’s rings are aligned with Pluto. It’s ridiculously unavailable.

Edit: oh wait, I didn’t read you’re comment correctly. Bank Australia and Beyond Bank are both member owned and formed from credit unions? Interesting!

People First Bank is a relatively new member owned bank formed from the merger of People’s Choice Credit Union (mainly SA/NT) and Heritage Bank (QLD/NSW). Not sure how their internet banking compares to others.
