I enjoy watching TalkSport on YouTube sometimes. It’s so different from American sports talk networks, and I love the fans calling in for some banter and discussion. I first discovered it through Jim White and Simon Jordan after Antonio Conte’s rant when Tottenham drew 3-3 with Southampton last season, but I have come to prefer Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent since their show is a bit lighter and funnier.
Anyway, Simon Jordan, while he’s got knowledge through his experience as an owner of Crystal Palace once upon a time, comes across as a bit dismissive and condescending at times. This is especially apparent when the topic of the Saudi Pro League comes up. He also is very firm in his stance on fixture count and the conversation surrounding player welfare, though I can see his POV. His bias for England and English football clubs is incredibly prevalent, and it is shown most when he talks about Manchester United’s legacy and stature in football compared to Real Madrid. On a less analytical note, Simon also talks insanely fast for no apparent reason sometimes.
Anyway, what do you think of him as a pundit? Like him? Can’t stand him? Indifferent?
He’s the dumb mans smart man if that makes sense. The way he talks and the speed like you say makes him come across very articulate but there’s a lot of times when you take in what he says then I think a lot of his opinions are crap - but then he’s on talksport and they’re only there to keep creating controversial opinions to keep rattling listeners.
