I don’t see who would buy it and it goes well for customers.

These megacorps shouldn’t be allowed to get so big in the first place!

I was initially excited at the prospect of this ‘liberation’

As I thought about it more, their asking price is probably steep enough that they’ll get picked up by Microsoft or Embracer, forced to churn out a profit-driven turd on developer crunch, and them the studio will get shuttered.

Hell, if M$ picks them up, they’ll probably release a gem and still get shuttered lol.

They might release nothing and get shuttered. Both of those publishers have acquired and later closed multiple studios, with no release to show for it.

BioWare is a fraction of a shell of what they used to be. The main selling point now would be exactly what it is, a shiny carrot for someone dumber to take a loss on. Enjoy your old games and quit expecting a whole different crew of unorganized idiots to be able to deliver anything “BioWare” in anything other than name.

Please let somebody who actually cares about the IPs buy it. Let them keep the microtransaction money laundering games.

Would Larian even want the studio? The current culture inside Bioware seems to be pretty dysfunctional. I don’t see how Larian would want to take on all that baggage. Larian might not be all that interested in the IP either, since they’re currently focused on developing their own IP.
