I got a couple Suzuki Samurai’s but I want a Monte Carlo, my second car. I love them. Mine had a 283, built with a friend that died years later and that killed me as a person. But building out a Monte in New England in February is not a light task.
I miss you Joe, I am so glad I could say goodbye.

1991 Ford Escort GT. A slightly better version of my brother’s first car, complete with a punchy stick shift and an engine that can last over 500k miles with basic care.
'06 Ford Ranger, which was just a rebadged Mazda. It was a base model 4 cylinder, 5 speed, RWD. You could throw some sand bags in the bed and climb sippery hills in the winter as good as any 4x4 I’ve ever owned.
I miss my 85 Fifth Ave, but not the rusting out part…
My dad had an 87. It was my favorite car as a kid. I can still close my eyes and smell the leather.
I had a 1986 Mazda B2600, 2wd, 5 speed standard. Loved that little truck. It was simple, durable, and dependable if a little bit spartan. I used to have friends with a bigger truck call me to move appliances because the Mazda was easy to load. It really sucks lifting a fridge three feet off the ground to get it in a full size modern pickup. Sold it to buy something that I could put a car seat in and regretted it in end.
Right now I’ve got a Chevy Equinox, a workable little grocery getter with a surprisingly decent sound system. Decent milage given it’s age and it’s got the kind of air conditioner you can really appreciate in a hot, humid climate. But it’s far harder to fix and maintain, and I don’t feel it can take the kind of beating that old pickup could.
Put the climate controls and sound system from the Chevy in my old Mazda and you’ve got the perfect vehicle.
Guess I’m nostalgic for something that never really existed, but I’d take the Mazda in original trim in a heartbeat if I could get one.
I still have every car I’ve ever owned. It’s outside.
Would kind of like another ride on my old Aprilia though.
I want 3 back. My 87 RX7 tops the list. I then would want my 08 MazdaSpeed 3. and as icing on the cake, the 2013 Genesis 3.8.
Those 3 were amazing cars. I regret not keeping the RX7 but my ex went and bought a new truck without asking and begrudgingly sold. Selling the Speed 3 allowed me to get the Genesis. Selling the Genesis got me my current vehicle, so I don’t regret selling those, but I miss having them because they were so fun to drive.
RX7’s are a blast to drive, its a glorified go cart on steroids! My neighbor has a Miata, another car on my short list hopefully.
I’ve wanted one for awhile, and even worked with a guy who raced them. I was so tempted to get with him on a modded street car but never got around to it.
Right on, always remember its never too late and the Mazda community is pretty dang big! Like all niche cars they have the nicest people to help ya get to your goal!
Not particularly; I just know I don’t want a massive touch screen and always-on surveillance, so I’ll probably end up with old cars until the world returns to sanity.
I was VERY excited about Bluetooth, but my CD collection is getting pretty respectable and I don’t think I’ve used BT for anything other than phone calls in which people complain about how terrible I sound.
Tbh I would want a now car more than a yesterday car from a tech standpoint but I don’t want the tech surveillance so I will stay with our Zafira

No shit right? I have a buddy that has a Tesla w/ Ludicrous Mode. I’ve driven top fuel funny cars in my youth, I never felt torque like that ever.
So no I will have to build one or restore a failed hybrid.
Ooh I was just thinking about this earlier. When I was around 20 years old (so, 2010ish) I bought a 1979 Ford F-150 off of my boss at the time. I absolutely loved that truck to death. It had a modest 4” lift kit and 35” Micky Thompson Baja Claw rubbers. It also had a propane conversion kit installed on the 351m so it was cheap as chips to run. I wheeled that thing to death (literally… it died after being flipped over an embankment with me and my buddies inside. No one got hurt somehow, thanks solid steel frame!)
If I ever win the lotto (which I won’t cause I don’t even play) I’m gunna buy a house with a garage big enough so I can rebuild the same truck. It’s gunna be expensive, especially because I live in Europe now, and even more so extremely impractical, but hey, a guy can dream, no?
Had a 95 Subaru manual, engine was weak as hell but driving that thing was bliss. Miss it sometimes, modern cards are so heavy and uninteresting.
Too much BS in modern cars, I want a cable to control my AC not a fucking screen.
Oh and I love kids around my 1990 Suzuki Sammy, they marvel over the manual window cranks. One kid was “this is so much better than new cars”. Future engineer there KISS, Keep It Simple and Stupid.

I have some weird nostalgia for my 2003 Jetta, but it’s also the first new car I bought and paid off. However, it had sensor issues and was a huge pain to work on. Honestly, no car is my ideal car, but that’s not feasible for where I live and what I do.
'79 Nissan 280ZX. Ideally would be one that had turbo, but would take the exact car back in a heartbeat. Was a fool to sell it when i did. The clutch release fork mount broke off the transmission, making it not worth the fix, with my at the time knowledge and budget. Of course if i would have found the right mechanic it might have been cheap. But goes back to the knowledge problem.
