I don’t think the well-of English cunts that cheerleadered for Israel through most of the Gaza Genocide mainly by using Manufacturing Consent language (for example, everything sourced from the IDF was reported as unbiased truth and all Israeli deaths were reported as “killed” whilst anything from the Palestinian side was reported as a “claim” and Palestinian deaths were reported with the passive “died” as if there were no causes for it) are quite the authoritative source you seem to think they are.

They might have changed a bit of late (though one wonders the kind of people who need tens of thousands of children being murdered to rethink their cheerleading for the XXI century version of the NAZIs), but their track record in this is disgusting.

Andrey X who made Tweet is a journalist/activist who protects Palestinians against West Bank Pogroms and documents them from the ground. Frequently using his body as a human shield for them.

I’ve got a lot more faith in this Twitter account than in TheGuardian.

What Twitter account? It’s a screenshot, it has the credibility of this image without a source.

The article corroborates, not discredits, what your screenshot says. You didn’t provide a source and none of us should believe random screenshots without a source, so I provided one without having to go to Musk’s fascist bar. We’re on the same side here.

An account belongs to a person and therefore has a reputation. This person holds a higher reputation than TheGuardian.

I don’t blame you for not knowing every activist but TheGuardian doesn’t hold much authority with their poor reporting on Palestine.

Mainstream news has done such a poor job reporting on Palestine they shouldn’t be ascribed any authority anymore.

That’s unfortunately not how critical evaluation of information works.

An account belongs to a person and therefore has a reputation. In some people’s eyes this person holds a higher reputation than The Guardian.

You see the issue? And again, there’s no source to the tweet, it’s just a screenshot.

Here’s an alternative source, as you have an aversion towards The Guardian despite it backing you up in this case:

I’m not criticising. I’m trying to help, you dafty!

In the information age, and especially on a highly propagandised and emotionally charged topic like Israel/Palestine. None of us should be taking the face value of a screenshot without a source. I provided a source that backed up what your screenshot says. I chose The Guardian because it was the only news source I found without having to go onto X, because I have no interest in using that website if I can avoid it. Maybe in future you could source your screenshots so this waste of time doesn’t happen again.

No good deed goes unpunished I guess.

At least link to the tweet. It’s still just a picture of text that anyone could have made.

You can look up any Tweet if you think people are faking them. Just type in a number of words from the tweet followed by “Twitter” and you can find them all.

I mean, I would prefer the journalist use a bsky or even better, their own blog site to post their thoughts. Personally, I wouldn’t be using twitter as the sole repository for this sort of stuff because Musk can easily suppress it.

Bluesky is a Zionist hellscape way worse than Twitter. At least Twitter doesn’t instantly ban everyone for posting pro-Palestine content.

Censorship on Twitter has increased a lot lately yet it’s still better than what Bluesky ever was.

I don’t treat either place as healthy places to hear about politics. They’re both corporate owned and shouldn’t be trusted not to be suppressing political dissidence.

Regardless, i’d just like a link to the tweet to confirm that this isn’t just a picture of text and some rando isn’t putting words in the guy’s mouth. This is just healthy skepticism.

It used to be a lot harder to see the truth, when corporate and government media were all most people had access to.

They really don’t like it when they lose control of the narrative on social media.

I’ve been reading Finkelstein’s book about Gaza, and it’s really struck me pretty hard how the major difference between the situation 20 years ago and now is how the media landscape has changed. It’s pretty clear to me that all the bluster about children on social media and ID verification is just an attempt to return to those days.

Not sure I see the civilizations picture democratically voting altogether against our interests is supposed to be a healthy relationship between citizen and government?
