I am looking to build a NAS server probably on truenas or possibly unraid using ECC memory. I think I want the latest and greatest 14th gen but am having issues finding a board based on the w680 that supports the 14th gen refresh. The Asus w680 pro seems like a good choice as I already have a fractal r4 case that would fit it. An Asus online support said only 12th/13th gen is supported with this board though but it is clear they were just reading what the website says. Is it expected that this processor should work? I am trying to time my purchases around black Friday hoping I get the best deals. I’d like to have IPMI support ideally with a built in KVM. I am not sure if the Asus can do that. I also plan to start with 6 drives in a zfs raid-z2 setup. It has been awhile since I scoped out building a server.
