Struggling to see where we’re going to get creativity from with the absence of Jesus, Ødegaard and Vieira.
ESR and Havertz are good on their day but they’re not going be playing any passes that unlocks a defence.
Surely if we’re going to drop Ødegaard we play Vieira instead of one of Havertz/ESR? I’m guessing the plan is to use ESR to tiki taka our way through that Sheffield low block bc he is rather good at that quick link up play
I agree. The midfield looks anything but creative. ESR, if he is mentally focused and confident, can combine with Saka and create overloads, leading to openings, but I don’t expect an easy game. Unless sheffield’s defense leaves gaps for us to exploit.
Havertz needs to be more ball dominant, but we’ve seen nothing of it so far, so I am a bit concerned with how the midfield will facilitate our front three.
