Fediverse the ultimate neoliberal social engineering experiment
Where private ownership provides absolute freedom and lack there of is a sentence to #slavery and submission to masters
Before you execute the messenger just consider a scenario then be as critical as you want, as long as criticism is based on rational arguments, not emotional metaphysics and characterizations!
Say you write a little book, you find a publisher that is cheap and quick, and you only have enough to print 100 copies, and you sell them basically at cost. 100 people buy them, read them, pass them around, before you know it your ideas have been exposed to more than 1000 people. But let us also say the printer, through some clause in the agreement, can buy them all back, at face value, and then destroys them. In the fire all markings, comments, notes written by readers are also gone. Furthermore the printer can take legal action against anyone making reference to the ideas on the book.
#FEDIVERSE
No rules, but ...
Awful, awful post. The author is just shitting on the Fediverse for behavior that’s WAY worse on the centralized social media platforms. While they admit that they haven’t been on the corporate platforms in years, they give them a pass because censorship wasn’t an issue years ago so CLEARLY the Fediverse is worse. Maybe go look at the state if those platforms before opening your mouth. There is zero accountability for their owners constantly fucking over the userbase. At least with the Fediverse you can move to new instances. Its not perfect, but its a step in the right direction.
And you can keep moving till you find a 100% compatible admin/mod/owner who will not erase your posts but erase everyone else’s posts. And this fragmentation of dictatorships is better than an empire of censorship.
Welcome to the autonomous and federalized dictators’ club
