Looks like rightwing garbage to me. Based on that quote along with no more context, you can’t tell what she was referring to. My straight read of this sentence is:

“We’re used to people saying fuck no and [those same people] doing it anyway.” Needs way more context to mean a fucking thing. Yet here I am squandering brain cells on this wankaroo.

The context? She’s conversing with Oracle CEO Larry Ellison about the datacenter of theirs currently being constructed despite Saline township’s vote against it. If you can’t smell check the people who are ideally supposed to be representing you, of course you’ll get ratfucked, as we all have.

Edit: even being charitable with the interpretation that she’s used to the wealthy breaking laws and getting away with it: she’s just politcally weak then, which is no better of an admission from her 😭

This is a right-wing rag, so I approach this with skepticism and look for the holes they chose not to fill. I do the same thing for left-wing rags as well, because I don’t like being lied to by “my side” any more than I do “the other side.”

It’s not clear who the people are saying “fuck no” and who is “doing it anyway”. The context of who she is talking to and what she is talking about is important, but the bigger issue is this sentence doesn’t have enough context — what came before and after it — to derive the actual meaning.

Absolutely no politician has clean hands, especially in a swing state like MI where being too far left or right alienates a bunch of voters no matter which way you go. If Gretch is being duplicitous here, that is disappointing and worth discussing within the larger context of Michigan Democrats, however she is term-limited so it doesn’t make a big difference at this point.

That being said, this article is lacking in details and comes from a source I don’t trust, so there’s not much to go on or discuss that I can see.

I will give you that the site does seem to be a rag, though I was seeing discussion on bluesky as it came out from various leftwing orgs. Besides the point, if rightwingers are disliking these datacenters just as much, it could be a point of education for the less dedicated(depraved).

But still to this point, if the democrats in general had half as much sheer motivation and reaction to the voterbase as the fascs get with even the most inane culture war items, we wouldn’t have people having their homes in some cases stolen from them, or now be next to one of the most annoying machines mankind has made yet.

Absolutely no politician has clean hands

Which is very much why we have to start collectively raising the bar. Make it known no future canidate can afford to be so duplicitous. They’re going to have to proverbially get their hands dirty if anyone is going to stand against and undo what’s already been done imho
