God it was toxic in this sub last night, it’s generally been a pretty grim place for most of this season. I understand expectations are higher this year and we’re not just all “in it for the ride” like last season.
But fucking hell, some of the “supporters” here need to give their head a wobble
Exactly right, we drop points there last season or previous seasons. Hardest away game in the group and come away with three points. City (H), Chelsea(A) and Sevilla(A) 2 wins and a draw. Great return, just shows how far we have come. I’m enjoying the resilience as much as the free flowing attacking football last season. We know the potential is there to improve on our current levels which is exciting
Yep, and for that very reason I find myself visiting less and less. Before I had a tab open for the DD and other threads. Now I just avoid mainly. Imagine having fough to victory at Sevilla in CL and having watched brilliant performances from Saliba, Jesus, Rice and Tomi and your VERY first thought at FT was ‘Eddie is crap’. I just closed it down and went to bed.
I very rarely visit the match thread these days, last season it was good vibes but this season it’s been woeful. Just picking on random players and calling them shit, I saw people destroying the team after 20 minutes??! And it was 0-0!?!! It’s just mental
Well said. For me fuck that. The boys dug deep after a tricky away match at Chelsea and grinded out a W on a rainy Spanish night. Job done.
It’s been quite bad lately. Crazy because we’re in a very good position in both the PL and CL. People complained we played beautiful football but did fuck all with it and preferred the opposite. We are now in control of games and don’t let oppositions have many chances and this is after playing the likes of City, United, Spurs and Chelsea. And the goals we’ve conceded have mostly been lucky and/or our own mistakes, most notably against Chelsea, Spurs and United. And then you have Saka being at fault for Fulhams second goal as well.
I’m convinced that a lot of our fans don’t know how to deal with being in the position we’re in after our banter years. They complain about anything. We have Raya who is a better fit for what Arteta wants (Ramsdale himself has said he’s not comfortable or something like that with some of the things Arteta wanted him to do) and people complain he’s not doing the GK stuff. Lol what?
