Update to the original post.

(I’m barely awake due to a tremendous lack of sleep, so I hope this post makes sense.)

I realized I needed to rewrite this to clear up some confusion people had:

Gigantic thanks to an anonymous benefactor for catapulting us across the first milestone. Hopefully there is still enough time for the solicitor to get everything ready. We’re not done. We still have to raise the total cost of hiring the solicitor now that we have the money necessary for him to get started. I have updated the total and the next goal in the title of this post - €30,000 is just a ballpark, the total cost most likely won’t be that high. But I’m projecting high just in case expenses get out of hand. If we are given too much, we will refund what we do not need.

Knowing that we now have evidence of his trauma and a recording of that trauma being triggered by contact with his mother, my wife’s representation has tried to file a motion in advance of the appeals hearing to have me arrested and my son placed in state custody. This sounds worse than it is, though. I have been given professional advice from a solicitor that could not take my case but was willing to explain a few things to me, that I just need to demonstrate that an appeals hearing is pending and explain that I’m following a medical recommendation for my son to avoid all contact with her.

Dealing with constant threats of imprisonment and forced separation from my son by my wife’s representation is a lot to deal with, so thanks again to everybody who donated for allowing me to finally hire a solicitor to take this workload off of me.

In contrast to the increased pressures we are dealing with, we are finally making progress in our psychological needs. Thanks to many amazing people here in Ireland, we have both started getting professional help to aid in our recovery.
