Stop purity testing, and start platforming actual leftists. There’s nothing stopping you from populizing Chris Rabb or Charles Booker.
Hey, I’m not advocating for or against anyone. I’m telling others be weary of OP encouraging others to be for or against someone.
For those confused. I was against OP’s opinions and OP is mod here so they just deleted my comment. I hope this statement of what happened was civil enough to remain, but I doubt it.
Hey, I’m not advocating for or against anyone. I’m telling others be weary of populism in a leftist comm. OP is just asking a question.
…what question is that?
click the video to learn it.
I’m sorry, can you explain a bit more, still kinda confused?
Click the YouTube video in the OP. It presents a question we should all be wondering.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Is Platner the most polarizing politician among the American left right now?
To be honest I find the extremely strong opinions about him pretty puzzling. He seems like a little bit of a chud… but the accusations that he’s a Nazi don’t really add up here.
Even in this video, FD is usually pretty thoughtful but I feel a bit disconnected from his view that Platner is an obvious comic book villain. Like can we unpack that a bit? What makes it so? Yes, his past is suspicious for sure. But besides from one note about him wanting to expand military recruitment, there’s no discussion of anything in his actual views or platform that make him villainous. And while it’s possible he has some secret evil agenda and his whole platform is made up… frankly, it seems pretty unlikely. Yes, politicians are shapeshifters to an extent, but most of them aren’t going the complete opposite of their real views, and Platner’s stated views (even in his formerly private Reddit account) seem pretty authentically left.
If anyone has more information on why so many people feel so strongly he’s such a bad guy I would be interested. But let’s talk about real facts, not just vibes.
