just wanted to share this app i found recently

after setting up freshrss some weeks ago i’ve been looking for an app to use on my phone. tried numerous apps listed on freshrss’s readme but none of them was to my liking sadly.

then i found this app and it works extremely well, even on my ancient 2013 phone there’s practically no loading, the gesture’s extremely smooth, and everything just works. compatible with android 2.1(!) and newer according to f-droid, but sadly it’s been abandoned by its author since 2020. for now i guess it’s okay since it works fine though…

If you can’t find a fork of it you like for mobile, then I’ll suggest Capy Reader.

I’ve been using it for a year or so and it’s been great. Works fine with my FreshRSS install.

What are you looking for in an app that the FreshRSS mobile website doesn’t offer?

With your mobile browser, you can ‘install’ the site as an app and then I use gestures to launch the app.

this app is much smoother than using the browser. also the phone struggles to run a modern web browser…

    I like Twine on F-droid

Edit: Actually nvm. I’m back to Pluma from play store as it’s the only RSS reader that I can find that is pretty lightweight and pulls the full story.
