We are seeing too many football personalities in the UK struggle mentally after they retire, toxic culture within the industry is probably not helping at all. It is also is not surprising considering many of them have played a high intensity and adrenaline sport for many years and now they are not getting the levels of endorphin and adrenaline shocks like they used to, leaving them with more flat emotions and lower peaks. Just for fucks sake get these men the support that they need before it becomes potentially fatal like for Kamara here. It became fatal for Gary Speed, Gascoigne almost drank himself to death. These are just a few names of thousands who have suffered. Really cool that Chris Kamara is sharing his story because that spreads awareness, but more is needed.

It’s also a sport that involves lots of blows to the head (both small like heading the ball, and large like head to head/leg) contact)

I wouldn’t be surprised if a large number of footballers are suffering from CTE or similar.
