Howdy, sorry for the stupid, and probably easily-resolvable question, but, after starting the procedures for my transition, I have been feeling somewhat alive again, and kinda want to fix, and mantain my body in a decent state. Do you all have some tips you can share regarding self care before hrt that could help, I’m basically, quite, ignorant on this stuff, and I’m pretty sure even the way I shave is horribly wrong, aha.

I got a double edged safety razor and some nice shaving soap. Can get a far closer shave than with regular cartridge razors and with less irritation. Can’t feel the slightest bit of stubble when I do it right. Takes a bit of practice, but I highly recommend it

If you’re in the US Maggard sells nice starter kits. Choose a handle and soap, and they’ll send that along with an assortment of blades. Different blades work for different people so it’s good to try a few. I like Gillette Silver Blues

As a wetshave enthusiast before I had my egg crack, the Van Der Hagen is available at target and walmart and was my first safety razor. Gilette has a new safety razor handle I found at a walgreens if you have more sensitive skin, it’s less agressive, but I get a less close shave from it for the same effort, and it has the head unscrew from the base which skeeves me out from a finger safety perspective.

The Van Der Hagen blades are pretty good. Used them last time I flew since I could only bring the handle and soap
