For many of the fans, maybe. Xhaka literally said himself it took two years to fully understand and unlock himself in the role that we are trying to get out of our LCM. I wouldn’t call it post-Xhaka syndrome but rather a lack of patience and understanding of how we’re trying to operate this season with players now trying to understand new roles and longevity for the whole season. Expect less handouts and easygoings with the current set of fixtures on our plate, it’s all about learning and sustainability. Dwelling in the past only does so much lol
There’s also Leverkusen to watch in case you still have the syndrome, they’re easily the most entertaining team to watch in Europe at the moment.
But why would we not go for someone ready to go straight off the bat in LCM? We were in a tight title run last year, the margins are so fine with the behemoth that is City. They can have the luxury of bedding in a player for over a year but we cannot. Things move so fast in football making poor signings can completely derail a team.
For me the best decision would be to keep xhaka bed in another when xhaka was still here could have affected morale but xhaka is a big professional
