As one of the French passengers repatriated from the MV Hondius developed symptoms mid-flight, the Trump administration announced it will neither quarantine nor test the 17 Americans returning from the hantavirus-stricken cruise ship.

*title is sarcastic, I’m not in total doom mode yet. But every time I see something about hantavirus it feels like it’s January 2020 all over again. I keep seeing people say we “learned the lessons of Covid” then see us in reality doubling down on our failures and somehow doing things even worse than the first time around. If this doesn’t become a pandemic it will be by the grace of god and sure as hell not because of anything we’ve done.

Edit: article is old. Someone tested positive so now the usa is doing a mandatory 72 hour quarantine. So still not taking things seriously
