This article is more than 1 month old but in the light of what’s been discussed in the last couple of days, this is relevant.
The US is no longer a democracy. One of the most credible global sources on the health of democratic nations now says this outright. The Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute at Gothenburg University reaches the alarming conclusion in its annual report, that the US is hurtling towards autocracy at a faster rate than Hungary and Turkey.
“Our data on the USA goes back to 1789. What we’re seeing now is the most severe magnitude of democratic backsliding ever in the country,” says Staffan Lindberg, founder of the institute.
What is so annoying is how easy its been. I keep thinking of all the presidents trying to do damage control and apparently the ideal response to everything is no. fuck you. your a <insert thing they are accuse of>
Imo what’s really disgusting is how easy it was to get support for that. Either a while bunch of Republicans are completely spineless and fully ok with dictatorship, or there’s been a massive blackmail effort to get them to go along with it… Idk!!
The real Epstein files, perhaps.
Kill 'em all. It’s the only answer.
Midterms aren’t happening, sorry.
You can disagree with me all you want but the writing is on the wall, the evidence is there.
What? All humans? Violence has never solved a problem properly.
Yeah, because there has always been humans left over after it. But if all the humans were gone … !

Do you want to go too (if you’re human)?
Sure!
especially with a recent bill of warrantless mass surveillance bieng passed with 42 dems supporting it.
but…but…but…The Blue Wave™ will SAVE ME!
This NEW crop of corpo-zionists will surely pursue marginally less cruel policies than the last one! Democracy is saved!
aiming for?, i think its a little late for that.
My thoughts exactly!
What has shocked me is that basically the US ‘checks and balances’ ultimately relied on people ‘doing the right thing’, and could so easily be undermined.
Similarly, I have little faith that the Westminster system (UK, Australia etc) could survive a bad actor. Eg, just pop in a puppet Governor General in Australia, and away you go.
That’s happened before, on a few occasions. Whitlam was probably the most prominent.
I’d still back it as a better system because operated correctly (which is always dependent on the people elected and appointed as you highlight with a bad GG, which in turn is dependent on the voters) it’s got good checks and balances.
“Well, duh”.
That’s the view of anyone with a functioning brain (i.e., not MAGAts).
Could’ve asked me this ten years ago
I’m honestly tired of this, they can’t be that stupid or slow to think

What are you doing about what you know so well?
isn’t this the exact reason for the second amendment ?what happened ?
The US government is owned by Israel.
