I am going on a vacation with the Steam Deck and full set of accessories (bringing the portable mouse, keyboard, etc…) but spotty or no Internet. What games can I install? Obviously, any games that are either completely online, have a large online component, or require online checking for DRM/anti-cheat etc… are out.

I realize it is possible to set up your Steam client to run in offline mode (e.g. Steam Offline Mode has no time limit: an explanation : Steam (reddit.com) ), but I dislike mucking around with the registry and editing system configuration files etc… and even then I am not sure which of the Steam games are offline-compatible, and don’t want to take the risk that I somehow trigger the Steam update check and screw everything up.

So I decided I want to go old-school and just install some genuine bona-fide offline games like they used to run, no Steam, no third-party launcher, no anti-cheat. Then I realized I have been using Steam so long, I actually don’t remember any such games lol. So my question is: do they still make standalone non-steam or third party launcher games that can simply run by clicking on an icon/executable file?

Oh and okay I realize that someone is going to say emulation/retro games, I prefer relatively modern games.
