I think there is an argument for this but the entire point will always be marred because the first that comes to mind for most Arsenal fans when you say ‘Henry 05/06’ is his complete non-existence in the champions league final.
We achieved nothing but getting to that final that season and he shat the bed in it, so it’s the most memorable thing about him that season and it unfortunately influences a lot of people’s opinions of him for that particular season
Personally, his 03/04 campaign cannot be topped, and not just because we won the invincibles. Genuinely felt like the best season we’ve ever seen from any player in the prem, defenders couldn’t touch him
Yeah I kind of get the CL final argument. If we had won it I guess more people would agree. I feel he completely carried the team and was like no other carry job apart from RVP in 11/12.

Nah, speak for yourself.
I remember Henry in 05/06 who broke Ian Wright’s goal-scoring record for Arsenal, scored 30 league goals and contributed knockout-winning goals against Juventus and Real Madrid. To say he was non-existent in that CL Final, particularly when he assisted our goal, is beyond smooth-brained.

My man…it is not the take of a moron to say Henry had the club on his back, but ultimately could not win Arsenal the Champions League.
He had routine chances in the final that would have done it.

Complete non existence? Are you blind? He was so threatening in that game, just didn’t score like you’d normally expect. Nearly played so many players through, was à menace with his dribbling against their defense, ran himself into the ground after the red. Heck, he’s the one who fucking assisted our only goal.
