I went to at least half a dozen Bayern games in the 90’s at the Olympiastadion, what an amazing venue. Even walking through the Olympic Park today it still gives me that feeling. No idea why there is almost no one at this game though, was this a friendly?
UEFA Cup 2nd round 1st leg. Not a meaningless game, then. Perhaps Bayern supporters thought Norwich was an unknown side - after all, journalists only mentioned that Norwich’s main attraction is that it was the city where mustard was made.
What’s more ridiculous is that Bayern lost 2 years before that to FC Kobenhavn - a club now playing in the 6th Danish league, and having no big names back then. The lineup for that match looks a bit more like Bayern fielded their B setup… yet, losing 2-6 is quite the feat! https://www.playmakerstats.com/jogo.php?id=292098

The mustard thing was probably a big deal for such a sausage obsessed bunch
Digging a bit into the history and looking at the team, it wasn’t even a bad side: https://www.playmakerstats.com/match.php?id=291602
