I’m pretty sure the anti-genocide people were the ones violently confronting Nazis four years ago while the Democratic mainstream said that wasnt the right way to do things.

Probably lots of overlap with the people who blockaded and flooded airports and courts to stop the Muslim ban.

Probably closely related to the people who put their bodies on the line and blockaded ICE detention facilities.

I’d bet they were involved in organizing the BLM protests too.

      Nah, man.

The real Antifa are the ones brunching and quietly judging while they sip their mimosas.

I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

You remind me of the MAGoos who only quote Martin’s line about judging people on the character and not the color of their skin. Using that letter ignores the fact that the letter was written before the Liberals passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Harris lost and Trump is getting ready to nuke Gaza. Maybe it’s time for you to reassess your plans.

You mean the voting rights act that was gutted by the supreme court while liberals just watched?

Did they expand the supreme court? pass ethics legislation? add term limits? use the same dirty tactics the Republicans use? censure Synema and Manchin for being republicans?

They sure didn’t. But the Republicans sure made sure Liz Cheney knew she wasn’t welcome in the party anymore.

Seeing how this is the 2nd time in a decade that moderate liberals have lost an election due to their lack of widespread support, maybe it’s time to reconsider their appeal to the increasingly hypothetical “average” American and listen to the base.

              Turn it around.

The Dems lost twice and what great rewards did you get?

Not at all, but ISIS was a creation of the Bush administration’s disastrous policies post invasion that excluded any Ba’ath party member from joining the new administration. Given that Party membership was a prerequisite for any government job under the Hussein regime and that most of the GDP was based on nationalized oil exports, this excluded pretty much every working professional from participating in society post march of 2003. That’s precisely why ISIS was able to set up a massive and functioning bureaucracy in a matter of weeks-- tons of people had valid reasons to hate the US backed regime and had no other option, economically.

I personally went to Kurdistan to teach refugee children how to use computers during the first Trump Administration and when the YPG insisted I carry a gun for self defense, I only kept a single bullet in the magazine. So, I do very much put my money where my mouth is.

I smoked hookah with teenage Assad Regime soldiers who became ISIS guards before the Kurds took over the administration and they became YPG recruits. The single most striking thing about the experience was how little the ideology mattered to the people on the ground. Consistently, it seemed like the primary concern was feeding ones family rather than this or that ideology.

These problems were created by the colonial conquest of the Ottoman empire and the root issue has always been Sykes Picot. More white people in the middle east shooting brown people will never solve that problem.

Also, the bombings of Kurdish positions today are done by NATO member Turkey who also compelled Sweden to change their laws and hand over Kurdish journalists that Erdogan didn’t like.

The US is no ally to the Kurds-- it was a partnership of convenience. In Kurdish, there’s a saying,

ji çiyan pê ve heval nînin

                    No friends but the mountains.

I’m arguing that we should be working in and with working class communities to tangibly improve their material conditions and you’re comparing me to a MAGA?

            That’s some weird dissonance.
