After Fallout 3’s success, they should have expanded into a multi team studio. By then they’d been a publisher and developer for like 20 years. Since then they became a major publisher owning studios like iD and Machine Games and then bought by MS in 2020. It took another like 15 years and a successful TV show to realize 15+ years between entries in a series is pretty inoptimal. It’s a pretty bad fostering of talent. Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim - there’s got to be at least a few people that worked on those games that could have succeeded leading development on a Bethesda style RPG

I mostly disagree. As we have more games, it’s fine if they take longer to make.

We can always play the previous ones while we wait.

I’d have trust issues too if Iwas Bethesda and I gave another studio a chance to make a spin off of our Bethesda style RPG and then they completely failed at making it a good Bethesda style RPG, but totally succeeded at making a good RPG in general and now millions of people give you crap for not being able to make games as good as theirs even though you have made very good games, they’re just a different style than the spinoff another studio made for you and that other as style is more popular…but it’s not your style.

    That’d feel pretty terrible.

I think I’d be okay if we never got another Fallout game. What we’ve got is satisfying, including the Wasteland and Outer Worlds games, and the Fallout show is great too. Maybe if Bethesda had a tendency to knock our socks off with something new every time they put out a game, then I’d be excited, but that’s not the Bethesda we know.

In the same vein I think we have to come to peace with the possibility that will there never being a new Elder Scrolls game.

It’s the project they’re currently working on. I don’t know why they announced it when they did, but at their current pace, I’d expect it to come out in the next two years and change.

        “that will there never being”

How’d you manage to write that without your brain imploding? And their next game is elder scrolls 6, that’s been widely known and reported on for years. Your whole comment is just idiocy.

Well it was kind of a cheat using most of the people that created fallout 1 to make New Vegas. They really should just give it back to Tim and Leonard and team to do the next one.

Microstiff could give me the IP and still get a better game than Bethesda has ever made and I’m about as qualified as the dumpster across the street from Todd’s office.

So go ahead, make a better game than fallout 4. If you’re that good surely you can do it without the IP.

I wouldn’t be upset if there is no new Fallout game for a decade or two. I really recall some article or some interview or maybe an opinion piece that said about how stretched for ideas Bethesda has made with Fallout as is. What we already have here of Fallout is more than enough.

Bethesda should be more worried about how they’re going to go about with Elder Scrolls VI.

That’s funny and should be disappointing.

The potential for something like Fallout is limitless. If they had brains, they would make one outside of the US for once.

(It should be disappointing that they don’t do this, but I stopped holding them to a higher standard long ago.)

Hate these comments that pretend Bethesda hate New Vegas like it is not a main part of a lot of their advertisements and the chosen setting of their tv show it just is blatantly false.
