If he was good enough for Arsenal then other teams would be in for him. Arteta loves the guy he must be unreal in training (rumors he is)

I’ve said this for years, but he’s just not good enough. I’m sure he is one of the most wonderful human beings on the planet, but as a striker he is below average. He could probably be a good player for teams in the bottom half of the premier league, but that’s about it.

If we seriously want to challenge for major titles for the next few years, then we need to replace him with someone better as soon as possible.

No. If we can bring in a top drawer striker, we are a top class club domestically and internationally. It must be done. These opportunities to win at the highest level do not come around often.

He doesn’t cut it as either if we are being honest. That’s if we view ourselves as title contenders. I view him just as the player nketiah, not nketiah from hale end.

Does he get into the Man City or Liverpool squad much less actually start important games for them like he does for us? Why are we putting ourselves at a disadvantage compared to other contenders by holding on to players who aren’t good enough for the very top level? There should be no debate. He’s completely at odds with how we play as a team. He doesn’t improve the players around him at all and doesn’t contribute if he doesn’t score. His pressing is half hearted at best and he’s nowhere near clinical enough if a finisher to have merit as a pure poacher. He has to be a much better finisher if he’s going to be so selfish and contribute nothing else.

I forgot where I heard/read it but someone said Eddie is like our own grown Welbeck. I like Eddie and want all our Hale Enders do well for us. Unfortunately I agree with some here and feel like he has had plenty of chances to make himself a nailed on starter but hasn’t. I see him going to a championship team and doing well there. He’s had some unforgettable moments for this team, and those will be fondly remembered.

In my eyes he doesn’t offer anything much either starting or as a sub but Arteta loves him so he will stay. Tierney did the same off the pitch but was shipped out.

At this stage I’ve just stopped questioning Arteta on these decisions as it seems to be mostly working very well.

I want it to work with Eddie, I genuinely like him. But he’s 24 years old and made about 100 appearances and if we are still arguing over whether he’s good enough to be a starter/backup then the answer is no

I think we did all we can with Eddie. He is a prem level striker. He scored some good goals and has qualities you would look for.

We should move him on in tje summer if not Jan. I think we could pick up a different type of striker to jesus from spain or france.

We could look at mid table clubs and see if there is any move that could make sense.

A weghorst to call our own.

The one thing that irritates me with Jesus is that he loves to overdo the dribbling with little end product. He gets into great positions but for some reason he must do an extra twist and turn. For Eddie I feel as long as he gets in he pulls the trigger fast

We’ve seen enough to realize Eddie’s best attribute is his work rate. That’s not a good thing if we’re talking attributes for an elite club.

Plus, he’d be making too much $ for a third striker off the bench.
