What do people think of the Arsenal Vision pod vs Arsecast? I feel like I used to really like Arsecast but now they kind of just get off topic a lot and their humor isn’t for me
Are you be any chance not from the UK?
Humour is definitely culturally tied, I find James (from Gunnerblog) especially hilarious. As for ArsenalVision, I have a lot of respect for Clive but he really isn’t the comedian type, the American host’s joke almost always falls flat to me, I just chalked it up to cultural differences.
I like them both honestly. I tend to prio Arsecast over Arsenal vision in terms of what I listen to first though. I know people are talking about Arsenal vision being better at tactics, but I just find Clive good honestly, Tim is cool too but I never really warmed to Paul, seems to always make some awkward jokes that people try to flow with. I know you could say Elliot does the same, but he is more self aware.
I generally just agree with a lot of what Andrew and James have to say about games too and I find their analysis good, I don’t really listen to it for an in-depth tactical analysis of how Arsenal played. There are so many youtube videos that do a good job of that now. Not every podcast needs to lean heavy into tactics etc.
I tune into Arsenal Vision here and there, never listen to any podcast religiously, prefer to have my own view of the team and not be swayed by another fans views. There are way better, self improvement stuff to listen to on a commute to work. Time is precious and having Arsenal consume more than a few hours of your day is not healthy.
I say this as someone that used to frequent this sub too much. It’s time you’ll never get back!
I listen to almost all of the Arsenal Vision, some of their Patreon stuff is really good, Clive’s great and Elliott while insufferable at times is a very good host and I like his dynamic with Clive in the rewatches and scouting videos.
Arsecast I only listen to when we’ve gotten a great win and I can’t get enough Arsenal content. I feel like generally the Arsecast is a bit more “armchair” analysis and a bit more laid back which definitely works a lot of the time.
I’d like to recommend the Potshot Podcast as a really good Arsenal podcast, their tactics discussions are to me fascinating and extremely deep. Granted I’ll admit sometimes I struggle to follow what they’re talking about but more often than not I found it very insightful, I particularly would recommend the pod they did with Jon Mackenzie, the discussion about Declan Rice as well Arteta’s seemingly heavy out of possession focus for this season was extremely interesting to me.
Arsenal vision is levels above. Arseblog is fine but can feel a little circle jerk-ish, at least on vision they’re not reluctant to express different opinions
No way, Arsecast is infinitely more Iistenable. Elliot is insufferable as a host and Paul can barely get two coherent sentences out in succession. Clive and Tim are just about good enough to make putting up with them other two worth it … wish they were on arsecast more often.
Had the same view on Elliot but he grew on me. The knowledge of the game and tactics on Vision is literally levels above though. Arseblog is more just the “football is good”.
It’s really not that impressive. There is far better stuff available if that’s what’s you’re into. Like I said, Tim and Clive know ball (though I think Clive often overstates his knowledge and his audience just treats it all as fact). Elliott pretends like he does by regurgitating a lot of stats, and Paul talks absolute nonsense.
It’s impressive compared to the level of analysis on Arseblog though
