I read the short story Company Town by Aimee Ogden which I found in Clarkesworld magazine #189. And I wanted to recommend because it was pretty good.
Basically, it’s the story of a lesbian couple. One has some secret identity as a warrior that routinely goes to a fantasy world to fight (the story doesn’t follow her there so we aren’t given much details on what her deal is) and the other, the protagonist POV character, is a normal girl who works every day for the company that owns the town. I can’t say much more without spoiling, read it, it’s cool.
