They have a plugin which can be used to upload images with a click
if one of our instances dies, if the other community goes inactive, there is still a second bunny place to go to.
If one of your instance dies, you can probably post to !newcommunities@lemmy.world and point the people to the new community. Or use a LW, lemm.ee, SJW etc account to create posts on the old community to point to the new communitiy (those posts would work, but only be visible to local users, hence why I mentioned several alts)
You can also post now about a back up community (and add it to the sidebar) so that people are subscribed to it in case you need to switch to it.
Just to say there are ways to deal with instances dying.
Hm. I probably should make a backup community. Have to figure out which instance I’d put it on. Thanks for the catbox.moe rec, I’ll look into it.
Still like the idea of community redundancy though, more choice, and if I ever go crazy and become power-mad (let us hope not), or if I just make some important community decision people don’t like, people can up and leave and still have a bunny place without too much friction. At the moment both !bunnies@lemmy.world and !bun_alert_system@lemmy.sdf.org are pleasant places and I hope it stays that way.
Catbox.moe is nice to host images
