Recently I started experimenting with Owncloud Infinite Scale to see how it compares to Nextcloud (which is ostensibly slow).

OCIS is super fast! But, it feels very lackluster. For example, their android app does not support custom directory uploads. Their Linux desktop application is very bare-bones, and does not look good on GNOME.

I personally would love some plugins, but I cannot find anything on the internet about any being developed for OCIS, even though from what it seems it should be immeasurably better than developing a nextcloud plugin.

Does anyone know of any good OCIS Plugins, or is the community effort pretty much non-existent?

Owncloud Infinite Scale definitely has speed going for it! But yea, the lack of customization can be a letdown. As for plugins, the community is still in its early stages compared to Nextcloud. Might have to roll up your sleeves and contribute some plugin development if you’re up for it! Also, you could poke around the GitHub repo - sometimes early-stage projects have hidden gems in the issue tracker or branches.

Yeah, it may be less customizable but at least is fast and error free (unlike NextCloud)

The community is probably still bitter from the way Owncloud went corporate which prompted the Nextcloud fork in the first place.

And now Nextcloud is plagued with the technical debt slowing it down.
