Hopefully moving to a new to my house in 2 months. It’s a large ranch house. I’m going to make a bit on my current house and want to build a new server from scratch.

Homeassistant Shinobi Transmission Plex And about a dozen other smaller things.

Current hardware HP workstation with a 7820x, 16gb ddr4, low end arc gpu. 6tb media drive. 6tb dvr drive. 1tb docs drive for smb. 1tb backup that rsync copies config files and the doc drive too.

I don’t want it to do alot more, but I would like it to more efficient if possible. Also, I’m thinking 13th gen intel to get rid of the arc gpu. I would like to be able to transcode at least 3 4k Blu-ray remuxes to 1080. Possibly add a coral tpu for object detection.

In my head, I’m thinking 13700 with 16gb ram and some newer / larger hdds.

Also, is running a hyper v that much better than something like omv on bare metal?
