I’ve bought some stuff from amazon (11 in total) starting from 2020 and recently when i had checked my amazon account because i had school work and it involved watching a movie for my school assignment and the only place i could watch it was amazon prime (my teacher told me this). I went searched up the movie name and i had to sign up for a paramount+ free trial. Thats when i realized that i had amazon prime and even though i remember i had cancelled it but nope, i had it auto renewing for 24 months and the only reason i found out was because of my teacher. I remembered that i had cancelled my free trial but turns out that they automatically makes you auto renew your amazon prime subscription. Amazon is a very very very sneaky company because i have looked at my orders and it doesn’t show that i paid for amazon prime for the past 2 years and then when i looked at my payments-transactions, it showed that i paid for amazon prime without me even noticing it. i paid 16.32$ every month for 2 years and that is 391.68$ that went down the drain. I started to look for others in the same situtation as i was for a couple of hours trying to see if i could refund all this money. I listened to u/acadianviking advice on u/HeinzNacho post and went through amazon customer service phone number and after the call they told me they would refund me for the past 4 months out of the 22 months that i auto renewed which i totally forgot about. I have bought stuff from amazon every once in a while/year and because of that according to their amazon prime terms and conditions " If you cancel at any other time, we will refund your full membership fee only if you and your account did not make any eligible purchases or take advantage of Prime benefits since your latest Prime membership charge".
td;lr i paid for amazon prime for 24 months without noticing and got refunded for 4 months out of the 24 months i paid for.
