We finished that league season with and xG difference per game of just +0.13, good for ninth in the league. We were a midtable team that went on a wildly flukey run of unbeaten games. As for the EL, cup runs always require some luck, they are not the best indicator of a team’s quality. That team was not good - results are not the whole story
You don’t get lucky over 38 games. You finished where you deserved at the end of the league. Top 5 team of the PL. that is more than a good team.

It’s mostly the madrid media and PR machine, every player instantly becomes the ‘best in the world’ when they play for Barca or Madrid.
He’s a good box to box midfielder with an eye for goal, he’s not on the technical level of those like Zidane which people keep comparing him to.
